Procedure 1: Entering the Classroom
- Quietly sit down in your assigned seat.
- Take out your composition notebook and a pencil.
- In your notebook, respond to the Daily Quickwrite and Quote
- If you finish early, work quietly on your Anchor Activity.

- Your portfolio will contain all of your assignments, so it should remain in Room 318.
- Only write in pencil in your portfolios.
- Always place your portfolio into your class box at the end of class.
- Once a week, I will review your portfolios and give you feedback and grades.

- You should come to class unless you are sick or have another valid reason.
- If you do miss class, when you return you should immediately go to the "Missed Activities" folder in the front corner of the room.
- Next, you should complete the assignments you missed in your portfolio.
- If you miss an assessment, you must complete it during lunch the day you return to school.
- Assignments that are late, missing from your portfolio, or incomplete will result in lower grades.

- Quietly complete the Exit Slip Reflection in your portfolio.
- When you are finished with the Exit Slip, place your portfolio in the box for your class in the back of the room.
- When the bell rings, quietly and quickly transition to your next class.

Official report cards will be sent to your house every 9 weeks during the school year. Grades will be determined as set out in school-wide policies and as further described below. For each of the assignments listed on the right below, I will give you a handout explaining my specific expectations for your performance as well as a rubric explaining how I will grade the assignment.
